Meet Our In-House Baristas

At ATC Williams, we acknowledge our responsibility as an organisation to provide an inclusive work environment. We are fortunate to have an opportunity to offer roles to people who might ordinarily struggle to gain employment. More than that, we want to build a community and culture that embraces diversity.

In Nov 2019, our Melbourne office reached out to the Busy Beans programme run by Aimbig employment. This program gives people living with disability the knowledge and skills to become quality baristas and build the capacity to become job-ready in a supportive, practical environment.

Aimbig sees coffee as a means to alter perceptions, improve workplace relationships and be the social hub of any office. Gaining a universal skill prepares job seekers for ongoing and sustainable employment.

The Melbourne office matched with Tiffany, who attends the office twice a week as our in-house barista. As well as making great coffee, she helps out with admin tasks during quiet periods.

Since Tiffany’s placement was such a great success, our Brisbane office employed Connor in January 2020.

“I like working at ATC Williams because I like working with nice people, and I enjoy their company. Everyone is understanding about my disability.”Tiffany

“I enjoy working at ATC Williams because the workplace environment is very calm and welcoming of new people and very friendly to all, no matter your quirks or problems.” — Connor

Mal Jones, Senior Principal Engineer in Brisbane, says, “Connor has made a great impact in the office on Tuesday to Thursdays. He’s very efficient and makes a mean long black.”

Both baristas are still employed by ATC Williams, although the COVID-19 restrictions in Melbourne saw Tiffany taking a break during 2020. We are delighted to have her back.
